SATISFY

Take me to the moon
Fly me on a jet
I tried a couple things
That have not satisfied me yet
I’ve ridden on the coast
Up to the mountain high
And I found nothing in between
That my soul could satisfy
I’ve had the girl of which men dream
That cause all to stop and stare
But beauty was all she had to give
And could not satisfy me there
I tried my hand at going to church
To see if God would there provide
But even this was not enough
I could not find The King inside
I’ve wandered every corner of the earth
I have searched far and wide
But there was not a single thing
I found that could satisfy
Until I woke up from the dream
And found myself at war
Bloodied, battered, covered in scars
Laying almost lifeless on the floor
I turned my head there in the trench
To see a man who looked the same
No boots, no armor, or a sword
He didn’t even say his name
His eyes were like fire
Burning bright red
And I could still see all the marks
From a crown of thorns upon his head
He turned and looked at me
With a gaze so fair and strong
And just as quickly as he had
In a moment he was gone
Reality begins to set back in
As I hang my head in shame
Remembering all over again
The price The King had paid
My brother, enemy, and my friend
Are the reasons that he died
To free us and to teach us in the end
That Love alone can satisfy

Earth, Milky Way
